Reinvesting

After selling two paintings back in December, I've been sitting on the cash trying to figure out how best to spend it. Besides wanting to buy a new torch, I bought these two tools yesterday. Would you believe the Swanstrom disc cutter cost more than the torch? Yikes. Sheet metal tools are expensive, but in the long run it is much cheaper to work with sheet than precious metal clay.

I will now be able to cut my own washers and circles. That's a big deal! Nothing is more frustrating than needing a certain size circle or washer and having to wait a week to get it in the mail...and then you pay more for the cut than the silver. I will also be able to dome the things I cut.

So, instead of just this:

I'll be doing more stuff like this:

...and all in the same day! Oh, and yes, the sketchbook pages are already flying. Yay!

I love reading the last three posts and catching up. Sorry it has taken me so long. I love the pictures of Chloe...I never could draw people...that is why I stick with landscapes. I like the new tools and jewelry...looks like fun. I don't know how you do everything. I have nothing but time and seem to accomplish nothing. You amaze me!

I, too, am just catching up. Cool tools; cool results from the tools. Your calligraphy really flows. I really like how you have multiple projects going at the same time, and yet, there is a familiar flow to them.
