Ouroboros

I'm in the process of designing a new bangle. Since ancient times the symbol of the snake eating its tail has been no stranger to metal. This bracelet is inspired by Epiphany---or the Magi---who actually turned up seeking God after a whole number miles and of strange events. This is the first year I have thought about the Magi and who they were and what they probably believed before and after Christ's birth. I like to think they might have known this symbol. I also like the symbol because it stands for self-reflexivity, something I am in the business of in more ways than just professionally.

What there is to say about the actual bracelet: I love the metal finish on the sterling. It's not like anything I've ever done before and it involves a new process that I came about serendipitously. I'm not so much a fan of the flat head of the snake so I'll probably pile more metal on top of it tomorrow or whenever I get the chance to fire away again. (Still not in studio.) We'll see. I do like it's subtlety and how it's not so obviously a yuck-snake...and it does lay nice because it's flat. Maybe I'll give it the wear test and see if it grows on me.
