Amazing!

I like to read before bed...and then drift off to sleep. Tonight I chose to leaf through my great grandmother's scrapbook for the 100th time. Well, it didn't lull me to sleep. In fact, I'm wide awake now. When I turned one of the pages tonight I saw this for the first time ever:

If you have known me for any length of time, you already know this is an unbelievably special thing for me to find.

To know that my great grandmother paused to cut and paste a line from my very favorite poem is just such an incredible gift. Thank You, God! Amazing!

What a great experience, Melanie! How I wish you could have known my Grandma Ensz~you would have loved her. She was just a different version of my Mom. She had the softest face ever and when you looked into her eyes, you could look right into her heart. I don't remember her laugh, but I remember her beautiful smile. I loved it how she would make a silly face when my eyes would catch hers. But only if no other adults could see her be silly. I can still remember how her hands felt when I touched them when I was little. And how she laughed when I would try to talk Dutch to her~she would say, "Just speak English". But she always spoke Dutch to me. She always called me "Julia" and she had the sweetest voice ever. I would love to spend one more afternoon with her in her flower-lined garden. She always let us pick as many flowers as we wanted and then pick out a vase for them. Bachelor buttons, snapdragons and millions of roses.
