Happy Birthday, Michele

I made my sister-in-law Michele a set of notecards/envelopes, bookmarks and gift tags for her birthday. In order to give a gift like this, you have to know the person loves to send snail-mail. Michele has always been good about sending notes of thanks and encouragement.

The artwork was collaged in Microsoft Paint, printed in draft quality (hence the softness) on old ledger paper I got from my neighbor Betty's auction. Some of the layers are paint, some are distressing ink. The rose images are vintage---they might look familiar.

Melanie,
This gift was so beautiful! Where did you get the orange roses--were they from a florist? They gave a great finishing touch & smelled so good.

This is an amazing gift, Melanie. It goes beyond words; it goes beyond gift giving. It has feeling; it has aroma; it has beauty; and it has practicality ... simply amazing.

By the way, have you thought of painting this pic? It would make a beautiful still life.
