A Flower

You also a tender young shoot
sprung up through hardened ground
Wild in nature
Delicate
A miracle profound

Innocent green bud
you cast a careful glance around
Shy in nature
Haunted
Roots just beneath the ground

Before bursting forth
you beckoned dark surround
Lost in nature
Bracken
Protection finally found

Thorny cage assuring
none would pick you from the ground
Asleep in nature
Resting
Aching without sound

Yet beneath the surface
water flowing without bound
Awakened nature
Growing
Calling roots deep in the ground

From within you warmed
your blossom gathered 'round
Aware in nature
Knowing
You are worthy to be found

Bursting forth you bloomed
casting old bones to the ground
Alive in nature
Glowing
Brighter love lost finally found

Melanie, it's beautiful. Reminds me how God makes all things grow.
1 Corinthians 3:7-9
So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
