Reused, Reclaimed, Repurposed

(Wish I could make out the name/address on the top!)

I finally built a much needed desk tonight. I've been looking at the antique/thrift shops but so far nothing has struck my fancy and I'm tired of waiting! So I decided to build one out of my pile of old wood.

The base is an old wood crate I scavenged from Papa Briscoe's garages years ago. I removed two sides of the crate, scrubbed it, waxed it and put on some rotating caster wheels. To build the monitor ledge I sawed and screwed two pieces of an old fence and stuck them on the bottom of part of the side I'd removed. I'll have glass cut for the tops of both eventually. (I might have to take off the out-of-design caster wheels eventually but they sure are nice for scooting the desk around.)

Presto! The refab computer (thanks to Ribbit) finally has a home. Webkinz and OurWorld here come my kids!
And now my laptop will go back to being M-I-N-E. :)

Once I got to see it up close I was even more impressed! You know your grandfather graduated Northeastern State College in Tahlequah with an Industrial Arts degree. Some of his moxie evidently rubbed off on you, my dear.
