Asymmetrical Earrings

In light of my last post, I want to talk about something completely different: asymmetrical earrings. I have sketches of said earrings in my sketchbook. On the way to Branson this weekend I actually assembled two pair.

So far they are nothing too outrageous...but believe me they could get a lot more funky. I am proceeding cautiously because I believe there is a fine line between good and bad when it comes to asymmetry. I have certain rules and numbers in my head that have thus far prevented me from getting too off-beat.

We'll see where all this leads. I am, after all, the same person who 20 years ago could not stand the look of mixed metals in ANY jewelry or design. I'm still slightly picky about it but I've come a long way since my militant days of absolute. For now I love the unique intrigue, surprise of these simple earrings.
