If we've been together any time over the last month, you might have noticed that I sound like a pirate.
When I'm not drawling out my Rrrrrrrs, I'm jangling. I've taken to wearing this jewelery assemblage around my neck. Whenever I move my necklace gently reminds me of a few important things I've wanted to keep close to my heart. I absolutely love it.
It's history? I made the "wax stamp" Fleur De Lis seal, it's .999. Calana gave me the Catholic cross medallion which her late uncle Buzz found on some beach with his metal detector years ago. Aunt Korrene gave me the "Agnus Dei" sliding charm medallion which was THE gem found in a lot of medallions and junk jewelry she sent me directly from an Ebay auction.
We've always known I like old things...but old things with a history, with a story, with wear, that's what inspires me. My new stuff is looking hand forged and rather old.
Look for multi-tonal, symbolic, and even some scripted (my font) jewelry to come. I'll be reproducing some of the medallions from my collection, too. I'll be using sheet metal and clay, but I'm also going to add an entirely new metal---bronze--- to the whole mix. Now that it's nice enough to go outside (ventilation), I'm playing with patinas again. I'm very excited about all of the "happy accidents" to come from working with a new metal.
Now I just need to find that trrrrrrrrrrrreasure so I can afforrrrrrrrrrrrd to starrrrrrrrt. Arrrgh?
(two recent happy accidents)

Keep thinking of the song we had to sing in high school choir---Agnus Dei--qui tolle pecata mundi.
How about I buy some brass clay from you and we can play together with it? I'll pay the shipping, too.
Thanks for letting me take the silver ring to wear this week--it looks so pretty in the picture. Thanks for lunch. I need to go out and get the game we played, too. Love you--Momba
Well, whaddaya know? I have an Agnus Dei sliding charm, too. I wear it with the crucifix my mother gave me when I was baptized. I think the crucifix came from a broken rosary she bought in a box of auction jewelry.
Love the post; love your stuff. It just keeps getting better and better!
Love,
Aunt K
