After two long years: Do you have a "follow-on gameplan"?

Here is an excerpt from an email I received today from my global missionary friend who has delivered hope and love to the most divided, desperate places--- the trenches of Iraq, the Sudan and post-tsunami Thailand. Here's Mike, regarding the election:

No matter who wins or loses remember the Word tells us the Lord establishes kings and takes them down, he establishes authority and we need to be respectful of this. Though we may not appreciate those in authority we respond to the position not the person. The last decade has brought such vicious and slanted attacks on leaders it no doubt has had an effect on today elections. Let us not be those who are hateful, spiteful, backbiters and the like. Let us be the ones to lead others in a noble way. Our Example, Jesus, never lowered himself to simply attempting to undermine authority, but He did speak the truth, with confidence and love, seeking to redeem those who were going astray, correcting those who were in error, loving all, and never backing down from the truth, never.

So, go vote…speak the truth in love. And as Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me…” Trust Jesus, don’t worry about anything and pray for everything. Have a follow-on game plan for the future no matter who is in “power”. Of which the primary work is to take the Good News about God’s love for each person to every person. This transcends all political affiliation, kings, presidents…etc…

As the Lord said to Joshua I repeat to you, “Be strong and of good courage”

Amen, Mike. Thanks for that.
