Two-fer Three-fer

Two blog posts fer one day. (That's unheard of...since I joined Facebook.)
This post is about the three-for-twenty sales I will be having at the big craft fairs this fall.

Today was my first day back at the shop since the kids are now fully occupied with school. I cut leather for about 2 hours. I had previously batch dyed during my time off for the hysterectomy. The fun part will come when I get to painting and designing on the cut leather strips.

I have new tooling stamps, so look for a few new styles that I'll bring out to the fairs. (Kris J happens to own one now, but that was only because the word she ordered had to be hand stamped.) I'm playing around with the color on those vs. the just plain old worn leather look. Tonight I put the pencil to paper and decided that if I did five designs in each design I've sketched...I'd have to make 600 more bracelets. We'll see how many of each design I actually end up doing.

You can see I also need to beef up my pendant store. I can't keep these things long enough to sell them this fall...so I'm either going to have to sell more than one kind of each or I'm going to have to come up with new designs. Likely some will be OOAK and others will have to be duplicated.

Anyhow, here's where you come in: I'm trying to figure out how to display these things. I want the design to be efficient and easy to access, but I also want it to go along with "the look". I don't want my display to overwhelm people either. What do you think of using this cool, old printer's box Calana recently gave me? It's pretty easy to categorize and identify them this way. It's low and flat...which is perfect for the bracelets to hang over the top and back of the tray. I'm think I'm going to tier bricks with long sticks of bamboo to hold the bracelets again. I'll try to find a photo of that first year at CCC.

Of course I could build anything to hold all of them, too. I have old barnwood and a saw. My aunt had the idea of using a biscuit cutter (carpentry term---not cooking! :)) and slicing low grooves into the barn wood so the pendants could "set up" in them with a slight lean.

I have a 6' narrow table space rented. Have any good ideas?

Also, does anyone want to make a little dough and sit with me at either fair? Ask Kim; I pay well...but Hillsboro will be HOT and both would take up part of your precious Saturday. I think you'd almost have to enjoy the people connecting and the good company. ;)

I really want to get in on that action. I know that I won't be able to, but I wish I could. I love you and I think the box for the pendants are perfect. Seriously...you are amazing. I love your craft. I am so inspired by your talent. You mesmerize me. Anyways...have you figured out if we will be able to hang out on that weekend or not? Let me know because I am anxious to see you.

I love your use of the box! your talent never ceases to amaze me. Funny how inspired one can get when school begins and time is opened once again.
