Upcoming Art Show (Final Friday January 2014)

Everyone's invited to this show...and it's going to be amazing! More details here. Plan on grabbing your gloves and a hot drink to come out and see things you've never seen and likely will never see again. The art for this show is interactive and innovative.

My own mandalas are part of a 3 part piece Kylie and Rebecca and I are working on together. Yes, I did say working---the sketches are done but I still have to paint 12 images onto substrate. The structure is Kylie's (and some WSU engineers?) brainchild, the artwork for one of the structures is mine, the other is by Rebecca. Everything in the show involves projection, so let's just say you will be viewing my paintings in a completely new way.

The mandalas I am painting for this show are a visual parable with meaning that sneaks right in through the front door. Here's a sneak peek at one of my sketches---find out what's behind the door at the show!
While thinking about the privilege it is to be in this particular show, I realized this is the Ninth Final Friday in which I have participated: The last one at the Labor Party, The last Cathartic (where Martha Wherry's beautiful painting got stolen!), This first one at the Labor Party, and This one that even I didn't get to go to, then there was the solo show I don't remember the name/date of at that place that constantly changes hands on Douglas, there was this one for Joyland, and then there was the very first one called Peace of Art (for Easter April 2006) where I showed this piece. I really need to get the names of these places and the dates together, huh? For now this will have to do.
