.999 Silver and Glass Enamel |
This is just the prototype but I thought I'd share it so the universe understands I don't always just melt stuff and call it jewelry. Initially I was making a washer ring out of a circle I cut with my Swanstrom disc cutter. When the metal was too soft I cut open the washer and started twisting it. Then I hammered it down and smashed it and unwound it. I tried to get it to solder to an old pmc ring but the pmc was too soft and it burned open trying to hold the solder. I then decided to stop and enamel the rose. Eventually I cut up an old
Tangle Bangle (hence the MP, though I kinda like it) and decided to just mount the rose to a pad and make the ring adjustable. Voila!
I imagine it won't take me several days of failure to make the next one. Phew! It is fun to discover designs...well, sometimes...when it pans out.
On a lighter note, the chip I got yesterday sent me running to my jewelry box to take this photo:
