naked and exposed to atmosphere
always aware you were formed
in a different experience away from here

Larva
adjusting as though you possess an endless energy
experience found form
comprised of brittle structure
that could someday be reborn

Pupa
you bravely let the structure crumble
seeking shelter deep within
exhausted by awareness of
the beauty that has always been

Cocoon
your camouflage conserves
who you were made to be
as you cannot distinguish
faux from authenticity

seek shelter and protect
who you were created to be
while you are being given
ears to hear and eyes to see

the ones who love you now
love you the day you can receive
what they have always loved
and in your heart believed
