Safe Place II

(a very rough draft)
When I am painting in the dark
Senseless of all sight
I cannot capture you
I do not even try
You tuck yourself in every stroke
Deep within my brush
Invisible on my palette
Loud and yet a hush
Though I cannot see you
I feel you in the air
Enchanting other senses
Heightened and aware
Somehow brighter in the night
Doubtless, you are there
Hidden and then found again
what morning light will come to bear!

I keep coming back to see this painting. I love the shimmery, dreaminess of it.

Antje, Part of the shimmery in it is the medium used to thin the oil paint---a linseed oil. Another part is the magic of light. it's why I put the close-ups on the post. click and enlarge them and you'll see the light actually looks white on the paint. so glad you love that, too.

I continue to receive comments and compliments on Safe Place I. Yesterday the comment was, "I, of course, am much more attracted to art like this piece (meaning SPI)..."
