Assemblage Belts

I bought some really cool ripped up, faded and worn out new jeans this weekend.

It wasn't long before I began thinking about what kind of belt and buckle I'd like to go with them.

So, I woke up this morning with the perfect belt buckle design in my head; a mixture of copper and leather. I tip-toed downstairs to make it and 2 seconds later I was distracted by a totally unexpected inspiration.

While searching my leather bin for the spanking new buckle blanks I ordered from Rio 6 mos. ago, I wondered if it would be possible to build upon any of the old buckles I've saved over the last few years (think leather bracelets). As I got out my giant popcorn tin full of buckles and like a kid in a candy store began to sort them out, thoughts of assembled belts began to turn in my head. Soon enough I was cutting and dying new leather, riveting it to old scraps and pairing the assembled leather strap with old buckles. Oh man was it fun for me!

Where did my "and" go? Yes, I am trying to do three things at once, but one of them isn't working so I didn't screw up work ;o)

Short waisted people look funny in belts and that is what I was trying to say...and I'm one of them, regardless of belly flab or not.
