It's a guitar strap. It started like all the other leather I start with---bleached and raw. After I tooled, resisted and painted it, I had to rough this one up quite a bit so it wouldn't look so new. I gave it several finishing coats including black and brown so it would be this variegated. I intentionally left the tooling lines in the background really subtle. (I didn't want it to look like a retro belt that could have the name "McGraw" at any place on the back; that's definitely not Cody's style.) I'm pretty excited about how it turned out. It looks pretty cool on his back. The two hearts sit right on his shoulder blade.
I enjoyed making this so much, I will likely add a "Guitar Strap" section to PearlPrice.com.
