I won't say what I was working on so no one has to feel bad or grossed out by their order. I will say I was pushing hard into leather when my Exacto V-blade went over the end of the cutting board and forcefully went 1" knife-down right into my thigh.
In a weird state of shock, I pulled the knife out and was pretty angry that it cut my favorite PJ pants. A few moments later I realized blood was gushing out of my leg so I tried to clean it up and band-aid it shut. (I had a full schedule of crafting and painting today and nothing was going to stop my peaceful day at home!) I then sat back down to finish cutting leather when Mom called and I finally started crying.
I ended up calling Cody, went to his office, got two stitches and a tetnus shot (I use Grandpa's old knife), so now I'm fine. I am going to bed because it feels like I have a headache in my leg and I don't feel much like crafting. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought a stab might hurt, but I don't think I'll ever do that again. Doh!

Sacrificing your body for your art. You are truly an artist.
But I thought you already went to the doctor this week? Can you skip something next week and just do double co-pay later?
Poor Melanie...sorry to hear about your art accident! who would of thought!??!!
Hope it's feeling a little better tonight...ick!

I almost passed out just reading that. i would classify it as a near death experience if it were me.
A headache in your leg. Classic. I am sorry you are broken (again) but totally praying that you heal, and get a cool little scar out of the deal. I love you.
Maybe someday we can compare art scars. I was run over by a rotary cutter once upon a time.
I so feel for you, but I do love Annie's comment. Hope your leg-head-ache is gone by now.
Love,
Aunt K
