Perspective

EDIT: Church is cancelled due to the blizzard!!! (Woo-Hoo for snow, Boo-Hoo for no advent gathering.)

This won't be happening:Tomorrow night Annie and Jason will light the Christ candle for our last advent Christmas service. Chill24 is delivering to me the only Christmas gift I want this year; she's singing Breath of Heaven at my request. I'm going to attempt to paint the face of Mary as she sings.

We'll see if it happens. I've been practicing different faces as I listen to the song and so far I've cried every time. The painting might look terrible but the spirit will be right. (I've decided against the above perspective...my family thought it looked too much like Jesus. The real one is much prettier.)

Maybe you'll be out of town when your church gathers---or maybe you haven't been to church in awhile and you'd like to pause for Christmas. If you would like to join us at Wheatland Mission, please come. We'd all love to have you there. (Directions can be found in links at http://www.wheatlandmission.com/.)

Breath Of Heaven

I have traveled many moonless nights,
Cold and weary with a babe inside,
And I wonder what I've done.
Holy father you have come,
And chosen me now to carry your son.

I am waiting in a silent prayer.
I am frightened by the load I bear.
In a world as cold as stone,
Must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now.
Be with me now.

Breath of heaven,
Hold me together,
Be forever near me,
Breath of heaven.
Breath of heaven,
Lighten my darkness,
Pour over me your holiness,
For you are holy.
Breath of heaven.

Do you wonder as you watch my face,
If a wiser one should have had my place,
But I offer all I am
For the mercy of your plan.
Help me be strong.
Help me be.
Help me.

Breath of heaven,
Hold me together,
Be forever near me,
Breath of heaven.
Breath of heaven,
Lighten my darkness,
Pour over me your holiness,
For you are holy.

Breath of heaven.
Breath of heaven.
Breath of heaven.

the painting is beautiful! paul said we could do it next week - this gives me more time to get through the song w/o crying - can't cry and sing at the same time...sounds like squeaking.
