For Lilian

Peacefully beneath a tree
another bough begins;
sheltered by a canopy
beginning without end.

Dawning in the sky
stretching out His softened rays;
He searches every leaf and limb
per chance to know your face.

Gazing over head
shining brightest at high noon;
faithfully He covers you
while beckoning the moon.

Tired and yawning in the sky
glorious golden light;
He dances once more on your face
before He bids goodnight.

Fear not, Dear One!---then comes the moon
illuminating night;
‘till darkened boughs above again
wake with you in His light.

Matt put this to music last night. It's beautiful. The lyrics are truly inspired.
